Help. I've come up with the name, the look, the visual language, the manifesto, the folio, even the marketing bent but I have no idea how to manage this thing or bring in new business. Let me know what you think ... http://www.bunkcreative.net/

Write a business plan to begin with, to fully understand what you're doing. It's not as easy at is may seem.

hah me too!
- Bunkum0
Have you got a plan or are you winging it? You have an impressive folio.

If you're new to the business side, try something a bit more light-weight. Establish some golals, say short-term, medium, and long-term.
then begin to address effective ways of acheiving them.
Estimate cost and schedule...

well, we want to do 'progressive' work without scaring away any clients -yes, we like profits- or turning off the more edgy ones -we love then since we are all about making cool lookin stuff. so its a hard balance...

After your business plan, strategic plans, and vision planning...
it's all about tangible results. figure out how much money you need to survive on for a year - your salary (personally - before taxes). then add 25% (rough approx) on top of all employees salaries together to take care of company expenses like taxes, accountant costs, etc.
then figure out how many small, medium, and large size jobs you need to accomplish those figures.
then figure out how many contacts you'll need to make to get that many paying clients.
then figure out if you need to hire a permanent salesperson to make it their job to make those contacts.
if necessary go back and adjust expectations. if you don't know exactly how you will be successful, chances are you won't be.
then go to a trusted accountant and have him/her set up everything right (from the start is better than handing them a messed up financial statement later in the year!).
you'll get incorporated and everything.
then get your bank account. get your checks.
call everybody you know!
if you need help, we can help you from a business and vision side of things.... that's what we do.
(the site is young - too many clients to work on our own stuff)

I'm involved with lot of internal business development projects currently. I would agree with jox. Write a solid plan and the rest will follow. Name, attitude and rest of the shit will be easy to figure out once you have given thorough thought on what is your market and the service. You obviously can not do this alone. So work with your management guy, you both need to be proactive in this process.
