Hello everyone, although I don't post that often (other then the odd handing out of flash advice), I was wondering if some of you could comment on my site?
Its not quite finished, and there's a little bit pf polishing/spellchecking left to do. But the bank called me this morning and made my situation a little more drastic...
I'd really appreciate your opinions on the site. and maybe suggest the sort of jobs you think i should be going for (and where to find any... ;o) )
anyway... here it goes...
login: newstoday
pass: previewmeI'm sorry to have to ask you lot, but i'd love the opinion of some people other then family and friends
[braces for honest advice...]

Wow, really f-ing cool.

damn good! i don't care much for the proportions but it's just me. i love how smooth and well planned everything seems.
although i am not a great fan of sounds it seems like your site needs them.

great work, you have a portfolio to be reckoned with..
easy navigation, and a lot of great content..looks ready for primetime!
one thing tho..
the layout of the site isn't as nice as , say, that Brita site you designed (the one that didn't get used)
anyhow, other than that, i'd say it's great!

Thanks guys :) really happy you like it!
Gorgeous illustrations brooke!
I agree about the sound, it would definitely add something to it. really appreciate this... keep it coming!

I agree with yott. Sound is an integral part of the experience. Doesn't have to be over-bearing, just subtle, something that contributes and doesn't detract.
Personally, I find the menu system obstructive, by requiring the user to move forward and back through a narrative process to get to menu options. I feel a more constant nav might aid one in seeing more in a short period of time (as portfolio sites are usually not looked at at great lengths of time).

also, perhaps some greate contrast in scale could aid your compositions. As it stands now, the large type and small type used have a similar stroke proportion, rather wide. As well, the frames for the sections have a wide width to their structure, even the "bullets" are wide. things to me seem large (not a lot of active space here), perhaps some smaller type to contrast, or a bit more assymetry to contrast the "full" layout

smooth... go for the job now !
u deserve it !

Thanks people - good criticisms. I was trying to be a bit experimental with the layout, maybe to show that i could go a bit off the wall, and and the same time quite strict? if you see what i mean...? maybe this hasn't come across as well as I hoped?

very nice..
but i loved the domain name even more... have you had it for a while ? good domains are very tough to come by...

the motion on it is very nice. makes me think happy things.
