Check out this story at MSNBC:

I betcha it will eventually be a microscopic chip inserted at birth or pre-birth, maybe when u get your first shots? Maybe already in us? If they can get one to grow, just put it in somekind of food, we eat, it grows, they store our experiences as data.
Freaky!
What is this leading to? Can you see down the road? Give me your wildest ideas?

un-American
un-imaginative

Eventually, we will all be connected as one. Imagine what we will be able to accomplish!

"What is this leading to?"
A dead end. I hope.
Applying the technology band aid to try and figure out human nature will only lead to more confusion.

we're already connected as one.....literally connecting us would be the equivalent of disconnecting us or the equivalent of an autistic child dissassembling the universe because he/she can with expert precision.

what negative out looks on information and tech you all share. great advancments. this is why we are here. mimic mother nature through tech. good stuff. if you have nothing to hide you shouldnt worry about whos reading about you. who cares? unless your a terrorist.

or unless you have a bone of integrity left in your body. check out "ways of seeing" by john berger, good book

Would we lose right to privacy? Yes...Maybe we can sell our experiences?

Right to privacy? who cares man? if you have nothing to hide why would you care if some computer has numbers on you? seriously. why do you care so much? I love my privacy and i wouldn't feel invaded unless I was caught doing something i shouldnt be doing. I want my government and the US' government to protect me, my family and my loved ones at all costs. I have nothing to worry about, therefor they can peek into my life for all I care.

Other than "My right to privacy" as being an easy answer that doesn't say anything - tell me what you are afraid of.

to put it bluntly, it's a wack idea and the avenues of exploitation are endless.

Ok. Fair enough. Give me an example? Are we talking about your not wanting people to exploit your information for advertising purposes?
- ********0
naturally
- canadian0
ok. let me understand. who would care if you were targeted for advertising? I would LOVE it. Finally I would only see the things that interest me as opposed to being flooded everyday with shit I could care less about. Why would this bother you?

To quote...
"Personality” is what makes you special. "Personalization" telegraphs the illusion that you’re special: yet to enable technologies to customize your profile is to expose your identity, streamline your personality, and ultimately jeopardize the very privacy that is your most inalienable right. "Personality" is to unique what "personalization" is to universal. "Personalization" means you have submitted information that enables you to be tracked: it’s a front for surveillance that lets you be repackaged as a "you" that’s a distributable demographic statistic. Personally, I am waiting for someone to offer customizeable encryption software that lets me be me."
And as Number 6 once said, "I am not a number. I am a free man."

I'm not afraid of this. I'm excited.

bluejam that is like someone calling you a name and you getting upset at it. you are you. nothing can change that. what is the difference if there is some computer you will never see that is trying to figure out who you are? why would you ever care? as for adverts - this is a bad argument. you mean to tell me you would rather walk down a street that has aboslutely NOTHING to offer you but the owners keep coming outside trying to get you to go in and shop in their store as OPPOSED to walking down a street that has EVERYTHING you enjoy? wtf?
- ********0
where's privacy????????
- canadian0
If *you* are so easily swayed or feel less like *you* when someone is trying to figure out who *you* are by way of numbers - than I question how deep, shallow or in touch with *you* , you really are.
- canadian0
Privacy is an illusion.
