I'm not saying that these is the case, but a lot of people praising IE had some "Netscape certified" thingie on their site's entry pages back in da days...
GO OpenSource! GO Mozilla! Go Unfit!
*i'm tired....

shut tha fuck up... it's a sad day when mothafuckas can't agree on a standard. It's like the fuckin railroads. The tracks need to be the same size so that trains can go where they need to go. before that standard was put in place it was fucking chaos!
yes as much as I hate microshit. I am glad that I don't have to bug test on any other browser. it's bad enough that I have to worry about mac and PC issues. fuck that netscape must die.

people still use lotus notes for christ sake.
And whe nit comes to browsers 99% of people use whatever theyre given. It has nothing to do with choice. There should be a standard, same as every other industry

Web standards start here:
All the rest can be considered as proposed web recomendations.
"shut the fuck up"? Now that's some nice conversation standards.

yep.

apparently netscape sticks to the standars moreso than microsnot, microsnot make theyre own standards
If Microsoft made cars
1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash twice a day.
2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have
to buy a new car.3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason.
You
would have to pull over to the side of the road, close all of the windows,
shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could
continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would
cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would
have to reinstall the engine.5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was
reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on
only five percent of the roads.6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would
all be replaced by a single "This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation"
warning light.7. The airbag system would ask "Are you sure?" before deploying.
8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you
out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door
handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.9. Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to
learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would
operate
in the same manner as the old car.10.You'd have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine OFF!

"web standards start here: www.w3.org/ "
in a nice idealistic world, this is true... but even nutscrape didn't follow that shit. each of those companies came out with exclusive non-standard features because each thought they could take over... so one of them lost. and the www3 whatever had no real power to intervene. the point is... let's get past all the hard feelings about who won the browser wars... the shit is decided-
Internet Explorer won. *IE* is the standard becasue it had the most money behind it. Sucks but it's true. So unless you find 50 billion dollars lying around and decide to spend all your energy battleing microcrap and enforcing the ww3 standard then yes... shut tha fuck up. : )
- ribit0
we can't stand up for Internet standards unless we have 50 billion dollars? bummer.
- ********0
sadly, it's true... by definition those that tried to impose strict interenet standards failed.
microcock, having sooooooo much money behind it's efforts, was able to defeat the www3 people / standards. it's the way the world works.
- kpl0
lilbabyleg, that's not even true. so it's not sad.
if microsoft is so high and mighty:
- Why is PHP kicking ASP's ass?
- Why do we use Javascript and not VBScript?
- Why don't we use the marquee tag?
- Why are all the new technologies Microsoft is adding to IE already standardized or in discussion at the W3C?
- Why would Microsoft need to join the W3C in the first place?
- Why is Flash the #1 platform on the Internet and not IE?
- etc, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah?

that last thing I want to do is give the impression I'm defending microshit. I hate microshit. I'm just being a realist. microshit can do what it wants because it has a shitload of money and power. the reality of our system.
The browser wars are about audiences. By maintinaing dominance microshit can also influence what content is seen. default homepages etc. joining the www3 is a diplomatic move. Microcrap wouldn't want to look like they are *trying* to control the market... just like netscape (who themselves violated ww3 standards often)
asp, php, and javascript etc. are different issues. microshit's business model relies on sales of operating system software and licenses to make money. giving that stuff away would hurt the bottomline unlike when it gives away IE which helps it's bottomline becuase giving away IE and maintinaing a content dominance insures that web users will cross microsoft's webpages and even sign up for MSN and microshit affiliated content..
- ribit0
Just because they have a really big market share doesnt mean they should be able to take over the internet... Do GM and Ford control the standardsand laws for the design of cars and the transport infrastructure?
hmmm..
- chl0
I should point out, again, that Mozilla based browsers have substantially better standards support than the newest versions of IE. IE for the Mac is still superior to IE on the PC, and Mozilla is still quite superior to both of them from a standards standpoint.
- chl0
And before I start getting emails about that last post, note that I said MOZILLA based browsers. The Netscape 4.x line of browsers are so bad in so many ways that I get indigestion just thinking about them.
- ********0
" ...because they have a really big market share doesnt mean they should be able to take over the internet..."
agreed. but again, is that the reality? no. not even close.
so once again, being a realist, by definition no one has stopped or slowed the 800 pound gorilla that is microshit. soooo... whaddy ya gonna do? the government ain't gonna come out with some law that says standards are to be strictly enforced by browsers. they should but it ain't gon happen. microbitch has too much pull in congress.
conclusion: I ain't gonna waste anymore valuable time trying to bug test some two bit browser operation out of the goodness of my heart or compliance with standards. not that I don't think it's the fair thing to do. but simply because there is nothing that will stop microfuck from changing or adding shit to fuck it all up - the reality is nutscrape has done it, microdick has done it and they will do it again.
*ANY* browser that comes in, that hopes to make it just better make sure they run *exactlty* to the specs of IE. or they will simply die. they can't compete because there is no competition or money to be made in it when going up against microcock.
I ain't lookin at any other browser. I ain't livin that life of spending literally 7 hours trying to get a gif to line up right in all three browsers versions 4-7 on two different platforms. no fucking way. and if people are smart they will follow suit. I enjoy daylight and long walks on the beach too much for that shit.
