For those of you in CA, what do you think is the standard salary, 10+ years experience...
- chubba0
£40K+
- LMSS0
easily 100k + benifits and all the creative freedom
- TwinLobe0
In the current (very competitive) economy, I'd say $70-90k + benefits for an experienced Senior Designer. 100k plus salaries are primarily reserved for Creative Directors.
Unfortunately it's still a "hiring market" for companies looking for cheap labor...
As you can see here, even my estimates are pretty generous: http://www.aiga.com/content.cfm?…

at least 95 to 110K
- JazX0
whom doesn't know what, what? pfft, I've looked at enough jobs in my day to have noticed your average price for a senior designer, that's a joke.
- mcDooThang0
dude go for gusto....i dont know what you work is like but go in as if you are the king of the world....if you think you are other people will too and pay you accordingly....
- lilbabyleg0
well, tell them to make the offer... never present a number for yourself... but Senior Designer? That not even art director.. you'll be lucky to top out at 55k...
- JazX0
all depends on what the situation is don't even cut yourself short one second, that's BS
- piperboytoy0
those are really high numbers, I don't think that's the same as canada. CD's here only make $80-$90K
Senior would be lucky to make $70k

In the UK you'd be lucky to get £40k for senior designer. I've seen plenty of jobs for less than that, that are advertised as Senior Designer vacancies.
$100k in the US. Sounds like you get paid a ton of cash and eveythings less expensive than it is over here.
Do you stuff your furniture with it?
- unknown0
in france a senior designer would get around 50k euros... at max 70 k€ in a huge group in paris.. outside paris 40 to 55 k€
call us cheap bastards...

I believe the salary you'll get depends on the company you'll work for.
Small companies often do not have the wealthiest clients and can't offer 100k (are there any?)jobs...
A good approach would be if you calculate the profit you'll be able to make for your company in one year - 40% of it should be yours....plus extras

It's just a title.
Salaries should be based upon talent and portfolio, jesus.

hmmm
u must be dreaming...
talent ?
portfolios ?i've seen some of the most amazing portfolios and of course talented people behinf it never ever get a job interview..
it's not pessimistic..it's true..
u have less talent but u cost much less money : you're in ..
- kerus0
oh my bad, i was day dreaming again.
who you know helps.. but at the same time, that all comes with time and experience.
yes, you have to eat plenty of dirt for a while unless you're someone's pet or whatever..
