Hi everyone,
I'm building the 3D Character for a candy bar packaging and I've been perfecting the head of the character. I've also made some more sporty looking snickers. I personally didn't like the shoes and heads on the initial design, so I created the new ones. Also I'm gonna be making better sporty looking body and they will be posed differently for the wrapper.
Here's the old rough draft:
and here's the new one:
Please share your comments / critics with me since this is a commercial project that is very important.
Cheers.

the body etc looks good but the face is bugging me. He looks like hes got dry teeth (hes inner lip is stuck to his teeth) and he eyes look like he's on about 10 e's.

Boz, that new guy looks lika a crack addict. The hair is cool tho.

not bad, whats the age group you're trying to appeal to? looks like its for a really young audience.
I don't get the shorts, they look a little strange (but it could be that I don't get the theme)
To me hes screaming for a really interesting set of sneakers.

Come on Sexy and Montreal, in order for me to correct the problem you have to tell me what is it in your opinion that makes him look like a drug addict :) I'm working on making his lips better, but what else...
Thanks.

His eyes are two wide open. i looked in the mirror in the nightclub toilet at 1am last saturday and that is what i saw.
if you could close them a little bit maybe. i like the eyes on the first guys better, more doll like

and maybe give him some eyebrows

i like the face of the first one. its cuter, more cartoony. Maybe even try to render a more 2d-looking one? the hyper-real 3d stuff would be lost on kids in my opinion.
new one is definitely on crack. I think my 3 yr old neice would cry if she saw that

The face is getting more realistic with detail, but he has no nose to speak of. He either has to get a nose, or get a more abstract face. His smile show too much teeth and not enough lips. Eyes too big, The hair is great, but symmetric, You can tell if he'sl looking straight on. He's getting there though. Nice work. What do you model in?

hey boz...
good work so far man///
i personally like the faces on the first draft. Maybe it is the skin tones and also the coloring of the clothing, but they seems more surreal and "fun".
I agree on the comments on the lips and eyebrows...the body is on point, just work on his coloring...
hair is superdopefresh

CyBrainX,
I'm doing Poly modeling in 3D Studio Max 5 with Bones and Skin modifier for posing the body and eye movement.
I've been experimenting a lot with new Light Tracer module to get more realistic lighting.

nice job. like the looks of figure two but think the colors of one suit better for the kiddies.
agree on the lips and eyes and also don't like the mirorred hair.

i like number two, his hair is the hair i've always wished i had - windswept, but interesting.
ruffle it though, it's just a bit too simetrical
