Ear Surgery : dis u have any ?

hi folks..
strange topic i konw.. but i like you guys around here and i find most of the posts 'interesting'.. well..
i'm gonna have ear surgery for the 3rd time.. but last time was 12 years ago so i believe things have changed..Basically i can't go into water etc.. they will fix that and other small things.. I am absolutely scared like shit about surgery..
Did anyone have recently something like that done ?i' prefer real people comments thatn my surgeon 'everything is cool' attitude ;)

my girl studies to be a doctor so I know little bit about the trade secrets. Honestly if you're not old and haven't had any freaky accident caused trauma you've got nothing to worry about. They are not going to fuck it up. Ear doctors also tend to be the meticulous sort. You've got nothing to worry about...

I had a huge chest op when I was 17 - it was totally awesome, they cut me right open and broke my sternum in 3 places, removed a couple of ribs and broke several others. It was a totally painful experience and afterwards I couldn't breathe properly for about a week and had to have these menthol steam'bongs'. I also had a big bubble in my chest which was just kinda 'body fluid' which took several weeks to be reabsorbed. The coolest thing was that I was stitched up with metal staples so it looked like I had a zipper running down my chest.
I recovered pretty quickly considering and got out as soon as I could.
On my second day out I dropped acid and caned loads of poppers - I could literally feel my 'staples' popping cos I was laughing so much, each laugh was so painful I just had to laugh, a vicous circle it was! That was probably one of the stupidest things I have ever done.

Regards your Operation, if my 87 year old Gran can have a hip replacement operation and be up and about after 2 weeks then your ear should be a breeze. Get this mantra in your head.
Grant me the serentity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.

hey man.
I had that surgery 8 months ago. It's actually fine. I could have walked out after it happened but that's against hospital policy. Just take it easy and be patient til it heals.
