in order to avoid being such a hack, I've decided to delve deeply into the study typography.
I'm more interested in technical aspects and "typesetting craft" rather than history (although i realize it's hard to separate the two)
suggestions where to start, bookwise?
I have "The New Typography" (Jan Tschichold)

I bought the Wili Kunz book and while I liked his approach to layout and his approach, I was dissappointed that he used ONE FONT throughout the entire book. OK, it was mostly one client and a series of college posters for classes, but I didn't learn much about font choices and style, etc.
