hi kids, need a bit of advice, i don't use direcotr much, but i'm doing a project in it now. i need to create some movies to go into it using after effects. The direcotr project will be played on mac and pc, what kind of video format and compresor can you recomend?

(its going to be a cd-rom)

thanks for any help on this

i haven't done video in a while but sorenson compression (i think that's the spelling) worked way back when. there may be a better tool or compressor now. also, of course, your file has to be cross platform capable. most likely a quicktime.

    good luck.

you can also play the videos directly in director w full controls and all that stuff if thats an option for you? quicktime with sorenson is the best wayy to go (if you have to keep sure that it runs also on old machines don“t use sorenson "3"!)

if you need that control thing i can drop you a ready to use file that i made back in school.

cheers kids, and thanks for the offer luke but i've got the movie controls working ok now.

the problem i'm having now is i have a lot of sprites on screen doing things (changing colour, fading in and out... etc...), and i've noticed if i put some of these sprites near my (very tiny 55*55 pixel) bit of quicktime, the quicktime keeps flickering. I have the movie playing Direct To Screen. Does anybody know a way of stopping this happening?
