still waiting for 'about' and 'contact' details - but other than that it's good to go - would love some feedback (form/function/usability etc) if you have the time...
Thanks!

very nice.

i like it man. one small, small crit.
lose the drop shadows on some of the headers. something about them bugs me. if you trust that the colors are going to show up on that gray background, and they will, you can cut out the drop shadow and fuse the type to the back.
and i suppose that there will eventually be more options under each of the drop down links?
nice work,

thanks bucky!
you know - I fucking stuck the drop on the headers last night because that tint of red was getting a little lost on the greay bg - and I thought lifting it would look nicer - but I looked again this morning and wasn't so sure - if anyone else mentions it - they're history!

Nice jevad. I like it. Just one thing also, it would be nice if the nav dropdowns were in their own iframes, that way the dropdown would stay on the one selected. Not a problem nowe, but when you have say 20 artists in one dropdown you will have to reselect it based on memory. Also with it in an iframe you can scroll through them all using the down arrow key.
more a usabilty issue than design. I like it tho

you could go a little lighter on the red. but then again, that would be pink. i don't use pink much but worth a look.
the preloader was actually my fav part. you can't go wrong with a black background and smooth transitioning white and red type.

thanks you guys - much appreciated - like your iframe idea dolan - only thing is they are going to be dynamically built with asp...

i like it, very nice and clean....
but i do not get why you are using "please wait" on the splash. it seems like it would be a loader, but there is nothing for it to load, it just waits a while then redirects.

buckyballz took the words out of my mouth. the drop downs on the headers bother me. but i see your point on needing them. have you tried a darker color and blurr them just a bit? just a suggestion.
and then thing that perhaps bothers me more than anything is the transition on the art animation under the main header. the side wipe really bothers me. but i dont think its the style of the transition itself, i think its more that the grey is a coming across as a bit darker than the background grey. i would almost rather see a static image loaded randomly everytime you load the page. or maybe longer between the transitions and then slow fade them. it is just too distracting as it is. i would also think about maybe cutting back on the vertical size...130 pixels seems like a lot of space to dedicate to an accent piece.
other than than though its a damn fine looking website. i like the color scheme. and holy shit, that intro animation is clean. a great first impression, after that i had to look hard for something to crit.
great work

thanks for the comments you two!
The initial (index) page actually loads all the section headers and thumbs...

lovely.
although I'm not sure why it says please wait, it's not like its a preloader or anything.

design-wise I´m freaking bored, programming works good and nav is very clean and easy.
- jevad0
bored kurtz?

.....................yawn... I guess prompting all kinds off art one have to tip-tap-toe through the design, so the art just speaks for it self.
Don´t like black sites either;guess I´m a real poop to you, sorry, but it´s crit-day on your ass.

hahah - fair enough mate - appreciate your comments!

it's a bit too black. i am not sure about the font. i like the functionality, it's very slick. and the teaser pictures @ random.
but how the popup opens. hmmm : )

Interface and functionability is great...
Design is boring...
the Imagry isnt shining enough i think.
Like most Photography sites are even more simple than yours... but where they go right is that they are VERY simple and that they let the work SHINE...
I think you need to maybe make your design simpler.
I would make this site like a 750 x 550 demensions,,,, Line the drop downs on the bottem of it..... make the main content imagry... and over lay the information in semi transparent boxes .. ithink you know what i mean.
then you can have some sweet imagry and have some sweet headers interacting with the imagry.
thats all

showing the work of painters is always difficult because you can't get that close to the reality of the artwork. this one is a nice example:
http://www.rijksmuseum.nl/asp/fr…choose "the night watch" left, and then " + zoom"...

ps...
since the background of my proposed design is the imagry.... everytime you click on an artist... make his work be the BG of the rectangle and if they select more images... do the same... switch out the bg.
and give them a way to loose the textual content if they want to see the image with out the text in the way

qburt,
don't you think another color would fix the 'shining' effect?
i think the design serves well the users needs
- unknown0
na.... its not the color thats killin it
its the whole layout
