it is very mean that she choose those reasons but i also think it's a copout because we did get along great, yeah we argued but it was mainly about little things like just spraying one shot of cologne before getting in the car or keeping the apartment clean. what's so funny is that she always got pissed at me for the same shit she does.
but....what can you do, when your not loved anymore, your not loved....sorry, i'm rambling, tough week.

i think the competitiveness would be toughest part of a d dating a d relationship. i was in a relationship with a nurse but she said i wasn't intelligent enough to be with her. she didn't want to have conversations with me about her field since i have an art oriented mind set. plus the fact that i don't make alot of money, i'm in a different class then she is in, hence those are some reasons why she dumped me 2 days ago.
i think designers need someone with a creative outlook.

I suppose for the sake of a thread it's worth discussing. But what it really boils down to is the two ppl involved. The chemestry betwn them. Everything else wouldn't and shouldn't matter much.

sorry auri - i had a bf like that , if u think about it its pretty mean and abusive so - f them!!! ;)
i agree dopepope but - alot of times, like if i stay up all night working on something and i try to explain to the guy why - they just think im nuts.. wait maybe it is taht i'm nuts... :)

Dating anyone with a career in common will yeild pros and cons. BUt so would dating someone outside your career. See my point. If you get along regardless...BE HAPPY! Love can sting real bad.

hello
interesting subject..Well i've dated this girl once from Lyon. She hooked me up through my site, found my icq number and got in touch with me. She was a senior webdesigner at zawstudio.com and well, after a few month chatting, we met, and that was it .. perfect... to be able to speak of something you really can't speak with others in real life, to share this passion and these ideas of yours is pure adrenaline and pleasure.
Of course the love story hjas an end, but designer dating designer did it for me, the girl was great, conscious, happy, simple, loveable really and full of creativity, open on everything i was doing, she could understand every little pixel dream i had in my head... never a scene about long nights in front of the computer or the usual bullshit about : ' why do u do all this ? 'now i'm not saying everything was perfect, i'm just answering to the specific question of a relation with someone doing and loving the same 'virtual' thing as me.
Because u may have lots of firends online to share things with, but it's great to be able to talk to someone.. AND NOT EVERYONE IS A GREAT TRANDY DESIGNER GURU TRAVELLING THE WORLD and sharing his time between the Semi Permanent and the Flash Festivals and all these expensive 'Elite' little upclass social events that i hate...peace.. and love ur design mama

I've been dating a designer for 6 and a half years!!!! Well we're not dating anymore we live together now. We met at college doing the same course and we've been together since (aaaaw!). We talk about design a lot, and it's great! I'm not doing design anymore but I am still involved at work (well until next week anyway).

always wondered what it would be like to date a designer..
one of my best friends in college, a girl named andrea was pretty cute..always considered asking her on a date..but she was such a close friend i didn't want to mess it up..
anyhow, that was years ago..
been with my wife for about 10 years now, and she's a highschool french teacher..
and we couldnt be happier...

I couldn't possibly date another designer! We'd just end up talking design all the time and criting each other's work! hahaha
luckily - my fiancee is a very creative mind - got accepted at risd and parsons but turned them both down to be a criminal psychologist - go figure!

designers makes me crazy. and its a well known fact that they are not to be trusted under any circumstances.
i prefer english majors :)

my ex-girlfriend's sister was an interior designer. does that count?
without the experience of actually dating another designer, i think it might be a recipe for disaster.
it is meticulous times 2. creative people are driven by acknowledgement. Acknowledgement for their work, style, etc.
Filling this need can sometime be a difficult task for some.
If you have 2 people who are always in "give me credit" mode, then the mix can be negative.
Hey look. I'm rambling.

yeah, well I would say breaking away from what one does is a good thing, you can become overwhelmed working in a specific field and therefore need a change
