My wife (psychotherapist) wants me to start going to psychoanalysis. She believes that everyone should do it.
Anyone here going to therapy?

Ive been having Psychotherapy for about four months now, as ive been suffering from depression and binge drinking. The depression has lifted and although ive got a long way to go, it has helped me be more honest with myself about my feelings and I have learned things about myself that i never knew. It has also helped me handle and understand my feelings and emotions. I would never have thought I would need therapy before I started it. At the time it seemed my last option, but, now I wish I had done it earlier rather than letting feelings and emotions make me ill.
Dont knock it till ya tried it.
I think everyone has got something to learn about their SELF.
Some are scared and some just live with their existing feelings. Living with them is what made me ill in the first place.
WORD.

yep, 2 times a week.
no sex from the missus unless I attend.
I figured its worth every penny rather than not having sex with an overweight ballbreaker once a month.

you need more than psychotherapy to sort your head out grubby. a slap on the back of the dish should do the trick.
- chook0
...twice a week.

hmmm. Unless you feel it's going to help I'd have to say no. Some people find it very hepful but if your secure and know yourself then why bother.
- Mal0
but Skydiver makes a good case for going.

nobody knows you better than yourself, if you can't seem to be honest and/or you're searching for something more it may help.

Go to your GP and talk about it. A good GP will look at the whole picture including your physical and mental health and recommend a course of action. This may include therapy or medication or both.
I have been through something similar in the past year and come out the other end a happy bunny - email me if you need any
friendly advice. :)
