That would border on ridiculous if they obviously didn't start with the background and work they way up. It's not the idea of the vertical nav, but the entire concept in general. I initally thought it may have been done by the same designers, until I asked the designer of the original site.

fine....my mail-account is packed with hate mails and now i realize that we only achived the FWA award for the background-tile, not for our work or our site, which must be definitly a total ripp-off of japanautumn because of a vertical navigation.....c'mon guys, there are tons of sites out there who used a vertical nav way before japanautumn....so, who ripped who?......if you can even talk about ripp-offs there...
anyways, i won't change the style of my site but i took it offline, until i managed myself to create the most important thing in the entire world...a background-tile.......if the site's online again, i would like to excuse myself in advance for everything which could remind some of you of other websites...

I agree, this guy's site is sweet! I mean, it's freakin' nice and i give him major props.
And like I said before, if it weren't for the bg, I would of never known that he conceptualized his site from japanautumn.cz.
I still have a hard time believing that 247 media got the background from somewhere, didn't bookmark it, and forgot where it came from.
Especially because I know that the designers for Japan Autumn got that background from one of the prints that was given to them to exhibit on the Japan Autumn site. I also know it took them a while to cut and match the tile so it would tile correctly. So that means that whatever other site that the bg was copied and pasted from, must of stolen it from Japan Autumn.
Maybe 24-7 should remember where he yanked it from and tell those designers not to yank other people's tiles.
Nevertheless, this is all pretty silly.
Just stop yanking and no one will get a spankin'.

last one of mine, regarding the bg-tile and not bookmarking the place where it was from.
if you browse through the net looking for something, here the bg-tile you'll start entering something tons of terms into the searchengine (which was google in my way).
so you get tons of sites with those tiles on it, you entering one of them, look through, up to the next one and so on......if you found something that could match, you'll probably right-click and save it......so spending a few hours with that and not bookmarking or even remember a site is quiet normal, i guess....
so the site where i got this from must have ripped it from japanautumn.....fine, but not my fault in that case.......
actually i'm tired to explain the same crap over and over again, believe me i spent more time with explaining than working.....
so believe it or not......can't change the whole discussion anyways.
