what are your worst software investments? the ones you wish you never bought, and after using it, you wish it's creator would die a horribly slow and painful death.
I choose Norton Anti Virus™

i choose McAfee Anti Virus.
that sht sucks.
i dont much care for Norton either. it makes my computer take forever to start up and shut-down. but you gotta have something.

i agree, i also have a sneaky suspicion that installing these 'anti virus' softwares actually promotes contracting one in your computer, i've been running my latest computer with absolutely no antivirus protection (at least non-that requires installation) and its survived longer than any of my previous computers with Norton installed.

I thought I' hold off and read everyone's opinions to jog my memory. And true enough...
REAL PLAYER!
Damn that's annoying.
I have Norton on W2K and it doesn't annoy me (even though I buy updates). I think I have become consumed by the fear of infection...

i bet SARS had something to do with those dudes up in Norton Headquarters...

I have Norton with W2K and never have had a problem. I love it, as a matter of fact. It just caught 2 viruses and quarantined them. Nice and simple.
If it's too slow, try disabling some of the features (scanning outgoing emails is annoying).
I have no problem spending $60 for it and I'd go so far as to say that it's a deal.
Can't think of any software that I bought that I don't use. I usually don't buy things I won't use ;-)

HAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHA...

Adobe FontFolio.
Not FF itself, but it sucks because I already had 85% of all the fonts installed.
wasted $9600. ATM is nice though...but not worth the f-ing money I could've bought a frikkin car for.

poor jox!
my advice: buy per font. charge the client.
FF is just $$$$ for Adobe.
- jox0
yeah my bad, I should've done more research, but they fooled me into it as I got Ill 10 with it as a package...
yeah well..

oh, and when GTA 1 was out, I paid $14 to get the Junction25 software (make-your-own maps).
Turns out I could only edit the existing maps, not create my own. :(
