Hi, I have a 3d max file that I would like to covert to a Swift 3d file in order to bring it into flash. I am trying to cut down on the file size! The file is freakin huge.
If you have the capabilities to do this, please email and I will send you the file. If you want to see what the file looks like now, go to http://movietrader.biz
I just rendered the 3d max file to an .avi then imported into flash. Is there a better way to do this? Thank you.

any opinions on the site? thanks.

Putting the avi in flash is completely different than importing it into Swift. Swift uses it's proprietary renderer, Ravix I think, to create a vector/fill rendering. You have 2 options when creating a new file in Swift, first is to start off blank, and the second is to import a Max file. Select the Max option, find your file, and import. Then you have to color it and render it.
It will bring the file size down, but will look much different than the avi.
Look into Plasma from Discreet for a more advanced option to Swift (more $, too).

there is also a swift3D plug in for 3dsmax, or as said befor import it into swift3D stand alone or use plasma. good luck

you gotta use the swift3dmax plugin. its so much better than using swift 3d, just work as normal and render animations in max to swf. I dont even use plasma anymore.

I don't think converting your animation to swift is really what you want to do, it looks like you have put a lot of work into making it look good in AVI format. I would say dropping the AVI into flash is your best bet.
To bring the file size down you may want to try rendering it again in Max with a stationary camera. With a stationary camera most of the frame remains unchanged, and it will allow for better compression. You could edit a series of shots together to give the same kid of effect.
You might also consider making the movie smaller, or lowering the frame rate.

thank you for the feedback. i will try the swift 3d plug in first just cause i have never done it before.
