I don't think converting your animation to swift is really what you want to do, it looks like you have put a lot of work into making it look good in AVI format. I would say dropping the AVI into flash is your best bet.
To bring the file size down you may want to try rendering it again in Max with a stationary camera. With a stationary camera most of the frame remains unchanged, and it will allow for better compression. You could edit a series of shots together to give the same kid of effect.
You might also consider making the movie smaller, or lowering the frame rate.
