There are a few that got famous as covers: The Clash doing Brand New Cadillac from London Calling. Hey Joe by Hendrix is a blues standard. CCR doing Heard it Through the Grapevine. Sweet Dreams Are Made of This by Marilyn Manson, Lay Lady Lay by Ministry. There is a version of the Beatles Revolution #9 by Kurt Hoffman's Band of Weeds that makes it sound like a song with banjoes, horns, etc.
