My wife and I are hosting a pre-wedding party for my uncle (who is only 2 years older than me) tomorrow night.
we will have 30+ guests at our home of whom we will actually know about 6.
Looking for good background music for the event - premade mixes - cds for rotation etc.
I plan to create an mp3 jukebox to play them randomly.

Everything But the Girl has some great tunes that you don't necessarily listen to, but simply immerse yourself in the sound of Thornes voice and music.
Track number three on Massive Attack's Blue Lines album is awesome for a kind of lounge/relax feel. It may be a bit too trip-hoppish (is that even a word?) for a gathering though.
I don't exactly know how old you or your uncle is, so my selections may be a bit off. If so, my apologies.

I mean the best thing you can probably do is just throw on a bunch of Cafe Del Mar shit from Jose Padilla. There is a large mix of soft and upbeat stuff. It's that kinda' music you sound like you are looking for.
