anyone cares to point me to a site that explains the objectives of these tribes ?
according to most experts I've heard this is the complicated stuff.
remember that most agreed war would be piece of cake.

Catholics, Protestants, and Lutherans that try to kill each other.
As I understand it, that is my best example for you.
- monoblanco0
thank you nirvous.
i'm seeking an expert's view though.
i think we will have to keep this 3 tribes from fighting among each other.
did bush mention that?
- Nirvous0
If he didnt he better think of something quick :)
- monoblanco0
no idea?
hmmm...
i guess we'll find out in the next couple of weeks.

Can't explain the three to you, but I just caught a brief spot on that, and getting those groups to get along and work together is a huge goal/dilemna that they're trying to work out. I think in order to make a democratic iraq we'll definitely need a fair segment of each... one thing I found out today, there are quite a few Christian Iraqis..... I did not know that. Many of them have fled to amman jordan.... interesting stuff.

the kurds are the constant victims of Turkish soldiers since who-knows-when
- IRNlun60
Yeah Sappire. I heard a few hours ago that Tirkish troops were invading northern Iraq. That some major shit.
- Sapphire0
the turks would love nothing less than their total annihilation
and the ethnocentric US is right ahead of them
- IRNlun60
Obviously its just my opinion but I think this Turkish invasion had something to do with the recent talks the US has had with turkey....major power playing behind the scene
- Sapphire0
ya, some secret stuff going on there.. who knows? it could be the martians... :p

ITSS THE LIZZARDS!!
caps, fuck i hope i don't get banned. :{

this is very interesting indeed.
a miscalculation on bush's behalf.
think of this,
bush administration could not convince france or the security council to join us.
i hope they have better luck convincing the turks not to fight kurds.
then again, it seems like we are doing a great job keeping serbs and kosovars from fighting.
we are, right?
i havent heard much about that lately.

man that is so wacky to hear all of those really serious ethnic conflicts. It's as if in the U.S. civil war breaks out between 'cause asians, blacks, anglos, and latinos can't stand each other and decide to go on their own ethnic cleansing spree.
This is one crazy fucked up world.

Anyone not supporting Saddam is my friend

okay, I have a few mins I'll try to answer your question - though its probably best discussed in some other forum other than a design centric forum.
The two main sects of islam are the "shia" and "sunni" there are more out there but I dont know much about them and they are a minority..
Iraq for example has both of these two sects living alongside each other, most of the arab states are of the sunni sect..
and Iran is a shia muslim country. There are minor differences between shias and sunni's as they are all muslim, the differences pertain to who took the leadership of the muslim community when the prophet muhamad died. There was a lot of conflict around that time. Shia's believed that the leadership should be in the prophets family, and chosen by god, thus they believe in 12 imam's, or religious leaders of the prophets family, grandsons etc..
Kurds are probably a different matter altogether, I think they are muslim but they are not a sect or anything.
this article details some differences in depth. I havent read it but hope it helps.
