cant you see that applying generalisations like that is the cause of racism, sexism etc?
- ********0
yeah it might be, especially if it is on tyrrants both stateside and abroad. cheers :)

suer have and lots of religions promote it.

whatever - you're entitled to be a racist and have your opinion.
sorry for freaking out, but you just swiped half my country with your generalisation.
- ********0
no I didn't mean it like that actually I was just venting on the Pope, I probably shouldn't have said that stuff about the Church in general, but he is a bit out-of-touch no? Cheers :)
- ********0
now you made me feel bad, so sorry hee hee ;)

actually I didn't know it was you at first Morty, but kept going just to start something. I really don't care that much, but have seen some nasty stuff in which Churches just sat by and scoffed at it.

I had to get rid of old email address because of spam - so I had to change username here.
Blanket statements about groups of people are wrong, period.
-My opinion.

for sure, I knew it was you after the the third post with the stylejunky thing but decided to 'bust your balls' anway.

Just to first say, I am not catholic, and I do not agree with a lot of the Catholic Church. My father is a minister, and I just thought I would discuss the Just War Theory, because many here don’t know what it is, or what makes a just war. I also read a few posts about asking why the pope was making his stance, so I explained, just trying to clear things up, inform about the Just war theory, and express me views on how this war doesn’t qualify. I didn’t mean it to be a denomination basing thread.

@Jazx
dude...knowing who he is or not shouldn't make those statements easier to say.
Go back and read what you wrote. That's some of the most hateful shit I've ever read.

It's not far removed from thinking all muslims are terrorists because of 911...
But I guess it's good to be on the receiving end of comments like that occasionally - makes one think twice before behaving in the same way.

true, man.
I'm biting my tongue on this one...just hoping it was a slip up.
Ignorant thinking like that is what starts some serious world issues.
Making fun of the Pope is like pissing on a Torah...something as sacred as he is is to billions of people should be respected, whether someone shares the same beliefs or not. Ask Shinead O'connor where her career is now because of it...especially during wartime you'd expect people to be extra careful of what they say to oneanother.
just because free speech is just that...free...doesn't mean you SHOULD say whatever you want all the time. Especially when it's hateful. Gotta be more sensible than that...

that's not what I said at all if you do read what I wrote. I wasn't trying to generalize even though it seems like I was, plus the Catholic Church is corrupt as hell I wasn't referring to the followers. It's like saying I don't like US Government for their actions isn't it?
- unknown0
"the Pope is a complete out-of-touch fool. Same goes for the Catholic Church in general"
... and that's not generalising?
- ********0
saying the Pope sucks is just like saying GW sucks if you ask me. How is it different, just because he is some sacred figure? I was brought up Protestant anyway, so I could care less about someone who is looked upon as being more sacred than others. That's complete BS.
- ********0
it is about the Catholic Church meaning the controlling group. How many people here bash the USA and generalize about Americans? What 75% of NT'ers?
- ********0
Not when you're talking about a religious organization. That's when you light a fire under someone's ass.
You're talking from a one-sided perspective, dude. You're making it sound like the catholic church has done nothing to help third world countries prosper...they've done more than any single organization in the world has done. They are dedicated to it 24/7. in just about every nook and cranny in the world.

"Same goes for the Catholic Church in general"
... unless you meant the catholic church down the road from you which you know from experience, then it is a gross generalisation
- ********0
again, guy. Jus let other people do their thing.
Why do you have to hate on the pope? You don't hear me knocking Mecca or talking smack about other religions most prominent figures...
