the votes were recounted last night. apple now has a 10% marketshare. congratulations apple.

actually boards do matter considerably in major decisions for companies. He will now have more power of an ordinary share holder be will also be obligated to listen to the concerns of the share holders before voting. Essentially hes just a politician again.
I think we will start to see the military and govt use apple computers more prominently. Maybe iMarine or iCia hell there is already the iRs.
:P

just in from Apple:
http://www.apple.com/hotnews/"Bush demands recount in Gore's board election: In the wake of Apple's announcement late yesterday that former Vice President Al Gore was elected to the company's board of directors, President George Bush announced this morning that he would demand a recount...The Bush administration indicated that if a recount was not successful, they would take the matter to the Supreme Court."

To this day I don't see why people have such a fixtation on that. He was one of the biggest promoters in the government to funding the development to new technology. He got screwed by the government and ripped on by the American people. I'm happy he's going to finally make a buck and do something that he doesn't have to appear so formal around. I mean the guy had the Grateful Dead play at his innaguration to the Tennessee state govenor.
Rip on him or me if you must, but I doubt he would have dragged the whole world kicking and screaming into his father's war.

I do not think anyone was ripping on him.
The whole voting joke is part of American history now and part of a culture of humor.
I may not agree politically with Mr. Gore, but I do not think he is all that bad of a guy.
I also think it is rad that he is involved with Apple. I am sure in many ways it may very well benefit Apple.

Ok, I guess that out of context soundbyte explains everything...
jeez... at least read the link I provided for crying out loud.
No one questions he said what he said in the soundbyte. That's not the issue.

Dont get bent out of shape. I recently heard that file, and this topic was a perfect excuse to spam the thread with it.
Have an herbal tea, and watch the war.
We are living in surreal times.
- chilaquil0
I don't like herbal tea. Can I have something else instead?

The Gores are Tennessee losers. I hope he doesn't run again he blew the first election by not targeting the proper states.

I think it's a great match. Apple fans defend their products as if they were political candidates. Now it just gives everyone another reason to love / hate apple.
Personally I still have not gotten over Tipper Gores attempt to censor my Judas Priest via the PMRC in the 80's. So I guess I won't be buying an apple.
