Apple announced today that former Vice President and Presidential candidate Albert Gore Jr. has joined the company's board of directors, having been elected at a board meeting today. Last week, we reported that Apple was planning to take on a new outside board member.

actually could make sense as apple has been trying to make inroads into the government and scientific computing sectors, he might be an election joke to a lot of people, but he's still got connections.
did anybody else notice in the press release, he's also an advisor over at Google? hmm...
