How can I do it? I have a Sony mini-disc 4 track and also a mini-disc recorder/player and I'd like to transfer some sound files to my computer to edit.
I can't figure out how to get my computer (tibook) to recognize the mini-disc. What do I need? Is there a way to transfer digitally?
HELP!?

I know

however, you were very mean to me during the Steeler vs. Titans game remember? If you apologize I will tell you exactly how to do it and what connections you need.

Peak software

You have to use the mini jack input on your computer. If you dont have one, than you need the i-mic usb-minijack converter. Plug the minidisc into the input source and use Peak to records it as an analog signal.

Now Jaz...you've heard the term projection, non? I think it was you darling, who struck out quite harshly at this lil Tennessee Titans luv'n girl who was also, I might add, very quick to defer to your superior football knowledge. :)

you don't need that stuff though, you need to have an editor to edit the parts that you wish to upload, something ideal would be Sonic Foundry's Sound Forge program. You will need to connect your MD via, well depending upon your type of MD, USB or some connection wire and upload your files into Sound Forge. It's great actually, I love my MD.

thanks guys...but isn't there a way to get digital to digital... whats the point of having a digital mini-disc if I have to run it through analog? Ok..I know, now I'm getting greedy. :)

I was just joshing you, to see if you remembered me anyway. I actually dated a chick from Chattanooga is I am spelling that right? So you want to know right?
- JazX0
you don't have to run shit analog, those are digital hook up you should have had with your MD. That's what makes your transfers so clear and clean. There are also adapters for this type of crap too.

Ok. So, if I have this Sound Forge program, it will force my reluctant Tibook to recognize the minidisc? I've hooked it up via this weird PC-link (USB) thing but my computer wouldn't recognize the mini-disc.

got any links harware jazx? I really want to check that out.

hhmm...guess I need to research a little more. My Sony 4 track looks like only RCA and midi outs. No digital? I lost my manual so maybe I'm missing the digital out?
- JazX0
you should be able to do it anyway monkeyshine, your MIDI-OUTS can push data up to your computer, what is a Tibook? A PC? Sound Forge will automatically recognize the info/data you are sending in.

Nevermind, found it.

depending upon what your sound card set up is as well. I have a Sound Blaster Live Drive! It has all those Midi-ports and USB etc.
