"why cant bush be trusted by you? he is your fuckin leader for christs sake"
he is?
I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT!
Bush took over the Netherlands... I knew it ALL the time!
damn.... i better obey.

ok, chemical biological attack in all of these world cities. who do you think is doing this? saddam! and all these other fuckin terrorists. this is what bush and blair are trying to deal with. if the threat is there, it doesnt disappear if you dont confront it. the only way the threat will disappear is by dealing with it.

tehre are peaceful ways of dealing with a perceived threat. first, question why the threat exists...do you know why the threat exists? or are you buying into the media's description of arabs "hating our culture"?
ffrom there, you can then devise a plan to halt our imperialistic ways in the middle east...
then figure out how to grant a palestinian state. this will ease anti-western sentiments.
after that, stay the fuck out of the mid-east and let them live the way tehy want to live...democracy or not.

I got to this post and had to reply
“drop your opinion and back up your leader.”
Isn’t that part of the reason Hitler stayed in power.
Extreme ignorance and apathy is our problem in the west. This is going to get a lot worst before it gets better.
Really this is crazy.

"why cant bush be trusted by you? he is your fuckin leader for christs sake. if you dont trust him, then what authority on world politics do you trust? i am confused on what you exactly believe.
first of all, Bush isn't my leader, Jean Chretien is.
Second, Bush hasn't made a case for war. what is Iraq guilty of that Israel, Pakistan, North Korea, the Congo, Great Britain, the United states and almost every other country in this world is not guilty of as well?Let me know why Saddam Hussein and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's deserve to die and I'll gladly enlist in the army and join the "coalition of the willing"

srvollmer,
The "hands-off" policy has been in effect for 12 years. Sanctions against a dictatorship hardly resembles interfering. Iraq was free to provide for it's people outside of UN participating countries. they blew their own reputation when they invaded Kuwait.

saddam is a threat, plain and simple. that is all the justification for war that bush needs. saddam has WMD and will use them some time or another. has anyone else seen the footage from saddam using chemical weapons on his own citizens? he downed an entire town with chemical weapons. if he is willing to do it to his own citizens, what makes you think for even a second that he would hesitate doing it to other countries?
so prometheus and 4cy, if you guys are not under the rule of Bush and are not living in iraq or another neighboring country, why are you so up in arms about bush and his dictator ways. go about your happy little ignorant existance, and just live life. bush is not doing anything in spite of you or your country, he is just doing what the world needs. he is taking a stand against tyranical people such as saddam. he is attempting to rid the world of terrorist threats like saddam. so sit back and watch the world become a better place. oh boy, that last sentance is going to get some serious rebuttle.___mje

guys, I think he just called *you* ignorant.
Cripes...I promised myself to stay out of this...
- J_Treehorn0
Virtu,
maybe you should argue the point, and leave the personal attacks for the dinner table.

You know as well as I that it was never "hands off". Furthermore, I am not just talking about Iraq (by the way, we provided them with the biological weapons to rid the world of other "evils"). It's a nasty cycle. We need to back out of the Israeli/Palestinian debate. We especially need to stop supporting Israel AND Palestine. It's a holy war, and that is what Saddam will turn this into. History tells us no one wins a holy war.
- virtu0
lol, jox. i did indeed call them ignorant. i actually care to apologize for that and any other personal comments i might have made. that is not my aim of this discussion. i truly do apologize for any peronal level comments. my bad.

Why would we need to remove ourselves from the Israeli/Palestinian debate?. Both parties want the US government involved. Also I think it's naive to think that the Muslim world is tolerant of the Western World. Theocracies and Democracies aren't congruent.

"saddam downed an entire town with chemical weapons. if he is willing to do it to his own citizens, what makes you think for even a second that he would hesitate doing it to other countries"
1. those chemicals were supplied to him by the US
2. Those "citizens" were actualy Kurds, who were trying to gain independence from iraq and were waging a violent guerilla war against iraq.
How many native americans were slaughtered by the US government?"he is taking a stand against tyranical people such as saddam. he is attempting to rid the world of terrorist threats like saddam. "
how about starting with these butchers
