Illo reps? I'm signed with two. One a good experience, the other not so much.
The general rule is that if you're in the earlier part of your career, promote yourself and learn the ropes.
I ignored it, of course. But now see the worth of doing it yourself.
Just scrutinize any contracts sent your way!

Thanks pixelfrog. Really need an update there. :)
People say wait and learn the biz for a few reasons...
-If you don't have much client experience it's harder to tell if your agent is doing a good job or even ripping you off!
- You might soon find you have no need for an agent, saving you a chunk of profit.
- At first a lot of artists think having an agent is a 'magic solution' to getting jobs. Have to admit I felt this way too but it just isn't true. (especially in this industry slump)
Personally I hate to deal with contracts, terms, and haggling fees... So it's a good thing for me now. But in the future who knows.
Anything else, ask away.
