How do people in the motion graphics biz charge for their work...
hourly? like freelance?
by project (amount/hours) final amount?
or are there some guidelines.?im going to be meeting with a guy involved in broadcast, if there is something I can do, what should i charge??
I dont want to seem like an ass, or an amateur(getting ripped off)

i'm PRETTY sure, you can go about it just like Freelance design, some clients feel more comfortable with a fixed amount.
Just estimate how many hours for design rounds, production and revisions per hour, X your hourly rate and give them that estimate.
negotiate pay periods if it's a long project so you get some dough in the meantime. i'm sure he's seen all types of estimates and invoices, but i think hourly is pretty standard.
