i'm PRETTY sure, you can go about it just like Freelance design, some clients feel more comfortable with a fixed amount.
Just estimate how many hours for design rounds, production and revisions per hour, X your hourly rate and give them that estimate.
negotiate pay periods if it's a long project so you get some dough in the meantime. i'm sure he's seen all types of estimates and invoices, but i think hourly is pretty standard.
