slow typing

the scenario: on my g3 b&w running 9.2.2 i type and there is a lag between typing and seeing the characters appear on screen. only simple text running.
anyone seen this?
better yet, sometimes it works just fine. reboot does not fix the problem (well it does sometimes, but not others) - appears to be random.

when app you typing in?
if its in PS or AI, it could be font management issue..
do yo have yuor fonts in suitcase or ATM?

just SimpleText (i wanted to make sure i was taking out extra variables by using the simplest program)
all fonts are just in the font folder

get a copy of ATM or Suitcase and manage your fonts there and turn off fonts that you are not using..
it could be the solution..
either that or something in chunking up your CPU and RAM..

I have a similar problem on my blue G3, running 9.2.2. When it wakes from sleep, it has your comatose typing problem. I have to restart. Then it goes away. It affects typing in all applications. Flash also runs like shit too.

seriously try using SUitcase or ATM..
it helps alot, when you turn off fonts that u are not using

i can't believe this got to the "PC vs. Mac" level. FYI, when running current software, my other macs run just fine (OS X). Just having issues with old software.

yup me too blue G3 9.2 can't put to sleep, need to restart.

not sure, sounds like a problem between your hardware and the way your MAC recognizes it.
