Hi all!
I have to find info and graphics about/from David Carson for a school assignment. I have to say that I didn't know the guy... yes, I'm ashamed.
So I went to davidcarson.com and yes, I thought it was nice :)
But then I heard that the real site of David Carson is http://www.davidcarsondesign.com…
Can anyone tell me something about him? Where can I find his work? Are davidcarson.com and davidcarsondesign.com from two different designers? I need some help... And yes. I feel stupid about the fact that I didn't know him, He seems to be very well known...
Thanks in advance!

you shouldn't need to feel ashamed of not knowing David Carson ... one of my former graphics lecturers hates the guy so much that he deliberatly does not remember his name.

i think he is all style no substance
give me stefan sagmaister any day.he still rocks
- unknown0
no bashing
just work harder on your own stuff thats what I found is the best answer
sometimes clients dont want content.. remember that
- tank0
hey hey..i have the book end of print...and i really like his photography actually(snapshots is for me the purest form of photography)..i justthink with a nice idea behind it(like sagmaisters 'cut imself up-poster')it would be more timeless
i think thats the reason why his stuff is already dated right know and sagmaisters his stuff will never be datedbut i have lots of respect for what carson did for the magazine world..he was the pioneer, the man that showed us new ways..
in style.but i'll to read yor paper cause i dont have that much of information about him.

this doesn't really talk about him, but it's one of his current projects.

I hope youre learning about carson for a HISTORY lesson
:-O

Rasp; dont be cruel: David Carson did some good s*it and I haven+t seen any challenge for a really new style since.
I mean, show me something that isn´t so retro it makes you wonder if all creativity has moved out on graphic design; left it crying and melankolic!

i think john maeda was something totally new(and still is)
- unknown0
yeah, but here we go. I think William Morrison did something new too, but that ALSO some time ago. "New" to me is not a repeticion or minor change in something known; "new" only considor "now" as a sign of what NOT to do.
A bit of the track, but do you get point?
- tank0
yeah i get it...and i agre with you..to mle new is a diffrent appraoch to graphic design
from another area(like maeda had when he came from m.i.t.)
havent seen that for a long time and thas wy i think that a lot of the 'cool stuff' nowayadays will be seen in a decade or two like we look back at psychadelia from the seventies.ut thats my opinion.

...............gotta check some more Maeda-stuff out then..........
Thanx for the talk; work´s pilling up here.
