Hi,
What do you guys think about the new http://www.heinekeninternational… corporate site?

it'd be really nice if they would do something with that white background. it is too bright for me.
there is a lot of white space at the bottom too. not cool.
but the site looks nice other than that.

Ouch.
How are 50-60 year old investors gonna read the text on this site?
They might need to get some glasses. Or not visit this site.
It'll be one or the other.
ps. Just increased the text prefs, (MAC/IE 5.1) to 150%...you lose the navigation.

it's too "serious", it doesn't look like a beer's web site

"insert bitter beer face here"

-its not a beer's website, its a corporations website. I love it but wonder if they are targeting the right audience with their design? I agree that the demographics for the site is probably white male 50-70 investors, therefore I think the design might be too fresh.

never really thought of beer being soooo global and socially important... so very 90's, so PC, so boring...

Hmmm it's not very Heineken if you know what I mean. Did Qi do this one too? If they did it's not their best work. I've worked for Heineken international and in my opinion they were into much more exciting work than this.

I heard of a dutch guy (Jurriaan from http://www.directiondesign.nl ) who did the artdirection of this site together with the guys from Blastradius (Amsterdam department). They didn't want the same green site with little drops and stuff... they're looking for a fresh style... So I guess that's why it's 'not very Heineken'.

Actually I kinda like it. And not all investors are 50 and older. I own stocks and I'm not nearly that old. I dig that map, it's cool.
Although that big ass space at the bottom is a little odd. They have this humongous transparent GIF there.
I'm not very familiar with their brand's personality, so I can't say whether this is in line with it. But I do like it.

Hmm that's a good point, but I still see the waterdrops! hehehe. It's not much fresher to me than what they had. I actually liked the green. Maybe the green grew on me after working on Heineken projects for almost two years but still.
Compare it to the Dutch version by Qi: http://www.heineken.nl/heineken.…
And there's not one good product shot. Always show the product! haha. I know. I've read to many books on branding :)
