srvollmer, I agree so much with Clash, Pavement, Pixies, Smiths
David Bowie called the Pixies the band of the 80s and I'm calling him the man of the 70s
I almost was the first person to say Miles Davis. A god in any of his 5 decades.
Bob Dylan for similar reasons.
I wish the Hendrix, Stone Roses and Nirvana could have done more. They would have ranked with the best. I guess they do anyway.
Autechre, NIN, Radiohead, Beck, Coltrane, Mingus, Parker, Gillespie, Bjork for her voice alone.
Here is my ultimate answer. Who is on the cover of the Rolling Stone and Mojo magazines this month, 32 years after splitting? THE BEATLES. The best band of the 20th century or maybe all time. They took the roots of rock and brought it into renaissance proportions.

that is too mainstream those three you named. I am more into single artists such as Paul Oakenfold and some bands such as Massive Attack and Bowery Electric

Oh, the usual girly music suspects:
FNM, Tool, Helmet, NIN, Prodigy, Static-X, Filter, Hatebreed, Sick of it All, hardcoreblahblahblahblah.
...and a healthy smattering of dark drum'n'bass and nasty industrial.

My favourite band is Oasis by a an absolute country mile. Just so many strong tunes to listen to.

g love & special sauce rule!
'cold beverage' is one of the best summer tunes ever. But when i'm at work i tend to listen to Killswitch Engage, NIN, American Head Charge, SOAD etc. They put me in a head-down, focused kind of zone. The day just flies by. G Love sets me off thinking about the pointlessness of work and wondering why i can't sit in a beer garden all day with me mates. Not productive at all, reserved exclusively for home time.

Holy Shit.. someone else knows of PAW?
Wow... coolness, I thought me and 4 of my buddies were the only ones. They rock. Dragline has to be one of the best albums ever. If ever there really was 'grunge-rock' that album is it. Damn.. wish I had it on me now.
