I was wondering what techniques if any are being used by latop users to resolve the color difference from a laptop (which makes colours seem lighter) to a desktop machine (which makes the colours from the laptop seem darker).
I've had my powerbook for 2 months now and i've got no real way of making what i design on my laptop look close to what most people on desktop machines will see...
Any info/help or links would be much appreciate

I have used powerbooks since I got to school 3 years ago..have never done extended color work without the use of a calibrated external monitor...you have to get one...they are cheap..and will be the only way you can get consistent color and contrast...the powerbook LCD sucks...
keep it real...and save yourself the headaches by getting a monitor...add an apple pro keyboard and you have a pretty good desktop replacement.

Unless you mainly work for web, otherwise you should buy a proper moniter than using the LCD for 4C print stuff.

yeah i will do that when i get the money... thanks for the advice.
Till then i spose i'll just keep doing i've been doing and that's linking my desktop to the laptop and checking the files regularly. But i'm also adapting to it by remembereing in the back of my mind that it will always be a little darker on norm monitors.
