a friend told me that Apple was coming out with an iCell - their version of a cell phone.
Is there any validity to this rumor?
I know if apple made one, it would be awesome.

Apple will release the iPhone. But it'll be a phone/pda combo. We know Apple said they will never release another pda because:
they believe that future pda's will be combined with phones .The phone market is too competitve, but the phone/pda market is NOT. It is still emerging. There is a lack of anything "good" in the phone/pda product group. Maybe the new kyocera smartphone (the newest) is somewhat good, but it has lousy interface and connectivity, plus it runs palm OS, which I think is getting dated.
Now we know Apple is going to unveil a New Digital Lifesytle Device (DLD) sometime soon. Somepeople venture to think that this may be a video iPod. But ask yourself, would you need such a thing? Video is all about bigger screens and large harddrives. Who would watch their videos on such a small device. And, how many full length movies do you think you could fit on a 40GB ipod? Not many. For those who still believe in it, here is an end to the speculation:
Apple already has a video iPod out, it's called a 12" ibook. No need to go any further.Now look at some recent Apple history:
Last summer, we saw the release of some good, but not so seemingly important iApps: iCal, iChat, and most importantly - iSync which just went 1.0 last month. These iApps are good, but they seem minor compared to iTunes, iPhoto, and iMovie. But their day in the sun is coming.
Also, notice the rush at Cupertino to include Bluetooth with all their new macs.
And, also last month, Apple made your address book iSyncable with your .Mac account.
WHY DO YOU THINK THEY ARE DOING ALL THIS?
So you can just use your iPod to check for phone numbers and appointments?
No. These are PDA Apps. Geared for mobile communication devices. One such DLD that will take advantage of ALL these apps. And more. And I definitely think that iChat will be a part of this as well. Why not?
And didn't they buy a phone technology company some years ago?
The iPhone is coming. And I will be the first online to buy it. Read the writing on the wall folks.

Regarding www.mammals.org/ I think Apple is getting into the bio-genetic experimentation field ala "Umbrella Corp."
But first it has to get rid of the 1000.000.000 bugs that came with Jaguar...
