So working on my ass 12+ hours a day desiging is getting to me. I need to get my body in shape. (and i dont want to deal with a gym). I know eating better and aerobics will help, but i want too improve muscle mass too. Has anyone tried the bowflex? thoughts?

an uncle owned one and i've used it a time or two just to see what it's all about.
i've been working out for years using feeweights and dumbbells and such and i can say it was a little awkward at first, but it does work.
pricey though from what i understand.
go to the gym. more chicks.

you'll work harder if you go somewhere else. furthermore, you'll work more muscle groups. go to a bally's or something and get a free week's pass. they are probably dying for the business.

If you want one of those contraptions, get the Crossbow instead for half the price.

fuck it.
just go to the friggin local gun shop and pick up a bow and arrow set AND a crossbow. i'm sure thry're just the same AND they'll save you a TON of cash.

Archery would be a fun hobby. Too bad it only develops the upper body.

I've tried it, I guess its not bad.
My friend has been using it consistently for over a year now, and he doesn't look different at all. And I don't think he would lie about his habits, since there is no reason to.
The good thing is, a lot of the machines I used at the Gym is combined into the Bowflex. The bad thing is, you still miss out the benefits of some machines (as well as taking a break of using just one machine, therefore reducing redundancy).
Personally, I'd prefer a Gym. It's just a lot better of an experience in my opinion.
Though if you don't want to go to a gym, then the Bowflex is a decent option.

I used a bowflex at a friends house, not a big fan.
I've been working out for a while now, and I just bought this:
