Had to share this quote with you all:
"Until one is committed there is always hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative and creation, there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: the moment one definitively commits oneself, then providence moves, too. All sort of things occur to help that would never have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising material assistance which no man could have dreamed would come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it."

I've put it up on my wall, because I KNOW this, but seem to forget every few months...
- TNDAP0
I forgot to tell you that they[NT] are probably gonna erase this thread... the title can't have all caps.

: ( should I post all the posts up again?
- TNDAP0
I would copy it just in case.

That is fantastic. Decisiveness is strength. I've been telling people this for years for various reasons.
- CAJTBr0
decisiveness is only strength if you are able to make the right decisions.

Better than making no decision at all and going with the flow or letting life pass you by more people need to throw themselves into the world...see what the fuck is out there and what life got to offer.

Agreed TNDAP. I think you can get performance anxiety from worrying too much about making the right decision. It stops you from following your instinct, and instinct is what creatives work with best.

I've just started "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" and it has some beautiful quotes on the same vain,

I wonder what every one would have thought had GWB quoted that in his state of the union speech?
- vespa0
I considered that too after seeing the responses, Bluejam you cynic you.
But then I thought the quote is in a context of creativity, whereas war can only be described as destructive. (Unless you are a New Labour spin doctor...)

In fact, wrong refute.
There can be no comparison between motivating yourself to make a movie or a painting, and motivating people to kill.

that text is so damn fitting!
Yes, I will print it and stick on my wall indeed.
Thx, Vespa!
