I knew Java and JS were different, but I assumed the came from the same place. Oh well, I don't use either...so...sorry for the mix up.

SP
i think alot of ppl still think that.. and think Java and JS are same...
After NS changed the name from Livescript to JS after their partnership with Sun, i too thought that Java had accessibility with JS...

Oh well. Learn something every day.

yeah the javascript in safari is a bit weird. the simple window.close() script wont even work in safari.

I liked it until I looked at a site I just launched. No more browsers to test on!!! NOOOOOOOO! :)
Speaking of...what browsers do you typically test on?
- violent0
i test mainly on IE.
its the only browser on OS X that actually uses CSS correctly.

mozilla /netscape is the most compliant browser, followed by chimera and safari. msie is far from perfect, just yesterday I was flogging it for not handling my floating div's right.

but didnt someone say Safari dont support CSS?
so how can it good?
i dont have safari so i dont know
- kpl0
safari supports CSS. it has a few bugs here and there and it doesn't apply css styles to form boxes (yet). that's all...it's not fully complaint, but it's fricken beta software.

oic..
so does this mean that i have to start building for NS, IE, Mod, Saf?
man too many browsers...
- kpl0
theoretically, since Safari is going to be 100% compliant (or as compliant as gecko is) your standards compliant build should work perfectly for it.
I've had more trouble getting ie5/mac and msie5/pc rendering right. Netscape works like a charm, and so does Safari, once I learned to restart it every time after making changes...

man i always get stuck in NS..
maybe cause i am in love with Bill

i'm using safari all the time now, sometimes, very seldom though, i come across some bugs and switch to ie just for the problematic site, if it's important. it's still only public beta, isn't it? it works really fast on my machine, faster than ie, i like the ns6 browser, but thought it a bit slow. in safari you've got that bug button thing on the top right corner where you can report problems. i never can be bothered tough... maybe a bad thing, if i want it to improve...

where can I find a good source on browser-usage-statistics (also for Europe)?
- violent0
i do use mozilla most of the time, for the tabs and what not.
IE tends to crash in OS X for me.
