has anyone tried the new safari?
what do you think so far?
it just might be a placebo but newstoday seems to load faster on safari than on IE.
- sp0
In theory it should, since the KHTML engine is faster than Gecko and the IE engine.
Safari is built off of Linux's, more specifically KDE's, Konqueror browser.

yeah it should...
safari.. yum
too bad i dont have a mac anymore.. :(

for now though i think i will stick with IE since it applies CSS to textfields and buttons.
in chimera or safari neither of them do.
i'll wait till they come out with the final version

I like safari a lot! The CSS to textfields and buttons is something they can't ignore... I hope it will be supported in the final version.
But it's already good enough for me.. . so I made the switch :-)

I cant login to hotmail using safari, I always get this error: JavaScript required. The browser that you are using does not support JavaScript, or you may have disabled JavaScript.
but its not disabled.

Because IE and MS fuck with Javascript...They are supposed to include the real version of Javascript (from Sun) soon - according to court order.
Sun Java has never worked right on any MS product.
- ********0
so why does NS has alot of JS problems?
- ********0
sun dont make browsers......
- kpl0
you're mixing up java and javascript. Sun's java is a full-fledged computer language, and is what applets are made of.
javascript is the browser scripting language, and it's what we designers and developers work on primarily. MS hasn't messed up that one too much.
- kpl0
rasko, that's fixed in the new version.
- sp0
No, but Sun makes Java and Javascript.
NS and IE compete over poor implementation.
But, NS comes with the Sun Javascript/Java install...so does Mozilla, Opera, I believe.
I've never actually had a bad experience with NS and Javascript when the Javascript is written correctly and not just to work in IE.
This is all goes back to standards.

install messenger and it'll link you directly to your hotmail inbox.

by sun about their JAVA
as for JS... NS and MS been fighting over for standards ..
NS says that MS fucked it up but why does it work better in MS? eventhough MS has their standards.......
- unknown0
really?
I guess it's download time then
- sp0
I'm not mixing anything up.
- Xentic0
another CSS problem.
The visited link color doesn't change when you load the selected page but when you move the mouse over the link... hm.. do you understand what I mean?
- kpl0
No, sp, Sun did NOT make Javascript. Netscape did. And it's codified as a ECMA standard. Other than having similar syntax and name, Javascript has NOTHING to do with Java.
- the_user0
i believe you are mixing things up.
Java and javascript are not related and the Sun-MS issue is over *JAVA on the OS* not javscript in IE - a BIG difference.
Javascript was first created by netscape communications and it was called "LiveScript."

ok lets settle this.....
- sp0
Hm. I do believe you're right. But that explains by MS fucks it up. I was wrong about that.
