how do you typically begin a site design?
what programs do you start off with?
how large is your canvas when you begin?
do you start with a color scheme template or do you just let color flow into your design?
do you slice your images or use a copy merge action?
if you slice, do you let ps/fireworks/etc. export the html file for you or do you create the html file yourself?
do you use a html builder or notepad?

1. Decide structure/goals/contents/archite...
2. Create basic layout/navigation using blocks.
3. Add design elements and colors.
4. Code it up.
5. Debug
6. Refine as needed.

i usually go in this order
1. illustrator
2. photoshop
3. back and forth between the two
4. split up in image ready
5. export images and html
i usually use the exported html to begin, but by the time i am thru, the html is completely different.i am capable of writing the html from scratch, but i rarely do. im not fast enough, so i do most things in DW and go back and forth in design view and code view.
then i sell it to pay for my habits. =)
