Should point out they are a band! And the interaction is based on audio as much as visuals.

Yeh you're right...I suppose I'm approaching it from the angle of it being a Hi-res production too much...
Ultimately it's an interesting approach but it just doesn't push my buttons at all... But a load of people do seem to love it.

I thin you're missing the point, much of their work is either movie/music orientated... So surely you missed out on half of their 'production' from ever project... Get yourself down to Dixons.
- timA0
True, I guess, but it's hard not to approach their sites like any other... You can only really view them in context like any other site.

Your interaction is as much part of the statement as the pictures. What exactly do you want to see? This is some of the most "Innovative and interactive content" you can currently experience on the web. You are told to look in the code in the help section of the site. Which is not hidden away. You obviously didn't look there because you feel you know what you're doing. But you're being challenged to look, think and act differently.
The mere fact that you feel that there is more there than you can see gives you a sense of a deeper meaning. I would argue this relates to their music. You may listen to it thinking, what do they mean, and how do I interperate it? They are a political band, so they seem to intend a deeper reading (listening) to their music.
Considering we are all doing a lot of thinking about this site I'd say it's certainly achieving it's goals.

timA nah, you were right originally.
Fanboy justifications to the contrary aside, the site sucks.
- Blofeldt0
Sigh.

God! Why bother!

Engage. The link to bodysong is wrong on your news section. Take off the extra /
Great site by the way.

Re : Sign, God! Why bother!
You and I see a dog turd on the street.
Me : Gah, a stinky pile of animal excrement!
You : A sublime conceptual statement on modern urban society!
Me : I'm pretty sure it's a turd - it smells to high heaven.
You : That odor was imparted to the piece to challenge the viewer - to make them think "Is it a turd? Is it art???!?!".
Me : It doesn't *do* anything?
You : The burden rests upon the user to *interact* with the piece! You poor unsophisticated bastard! *sticks fingers into turd*
A turd is a turd is a turd.

My word, what a pithy attack.
Well, if a dog shits on the street, the dog isn't making statement.
If a person puts a dog shit in a street they would be.But that really doesn't. Matter. Why do you dislike deconstruction? TimA asked for thoughts about the site. If you are incapable of critical analysis and resort to non constructive condemning comments all you demonstrate is that you are an idiot.
Perhaps you'd like to explain succinctly why you dislike this site and the deconstructions of it so much.

Blofeldt ... after completing their degrees, most people, even art students and lit grad students give up the academic bs and live in the real world.
Go deconstruct a cheeseburgher or engage in critical analysis of a discarded bread wrapper or something.
troll
- Blofeldt0
Ohh, touchy! Were you deconstructed as a child?

Stand back Blofeldt he's got a degree!

Some interesting thoughts... Thanks to everyone... I'll investigate the site a bit further though. Seems like the fans like it from the thread on the forum on their site.
