only rip is... your too dang humble..
very nice stuff...oh.. rip=broken link to bio page (INFO)
have you used your photos for commercial use?what equipment do you use?
- deuce0
slinky, thanks very much. i've done limited commercial stuff. would do more, but i'm from more of a available light, documentary background.
almost everything is 35mm, and i shoot a contax rx mostly, though some stuff is Lomo and one shot is with a hassablad x-pan

the action skiing shots are a bit underexposed and out of focus...not much excitement in them, they don't give sense of rush.
also if you're going to shoot sequence you should shoot the whole trick from takeoff to landing and do it on a nice sunny day so you can shoot at higher speed and capture more frames.
other than that...nice shots.

photos are nice. like the composition on most of them. really don't like this one:

it's kind of boring.

deuce.
you have some great shots in your portfolio. good eye for composition and i'm diggin the way you cropped some of the photos. tight work.
some of the ski shots are a bit blurry but on some it helps the photo and some it hinders.
oh, and for the abs i recommend weighted crunches and 20 minutes of cardio 3x week.
; )

very nice indeed.
My favorite is the lotus temple.

Great photos man! I would agree that you have an awesome sense of composition, but there are a few that could use some adjusting in the exposure department and such.
Especially dig the Utah/Moab photos, that's just about the best place on earth.
Here's an old little photo exhibit of mine with some utah photos in it.

You should adjust the contrast and brightness on some of them and also do some color balancing. You'll get those thick vibrant colors I think you're going for. You should also be more discriminatory with which ones you include in your collection. Some are really great while others are bland and typical which takes away from the good ones. Glad to see more photography on here...i'm sick of vectors and fonts.

they all look great sept this one
http://www.dustinross.com/htmls/… i think the colors make it look a bit low key.
my only other advice is go landscape on landscapes! but thats just personal preference i guess .. Nice work , pleasure to view.
- deuce0
wadafa, i try not to mess with color balance too much and of course every monitor portrays the images differently... but I'd like to hear which images struck you and which did not resonate with you.
thanks.

I like em - nice diverse range :)
Generally they look a little soft perhaps, feel like I need to see more detail in some of them (ie. larger pics).Do you like mine? On my site :)

are you called deuce because you like to post twice?
(Kidding)
I agree with the others about only including only the best shots. If you're not sure, leave it out. And you may want to restrict the amount of categories you present. Stylistically you're all over the place, which is good for personal development, bad for presentation.
I think the weakest stuff are your people shots, with the exception of "dozing", for the simple reason of the unique perspective. It really gives the viewer a sense of being a fly on the wall, a voyeur. Almost all your people shots are obviously taken from the same distance and height. I'd say get in closer, get personal and try some new angles. Avoid "posed" shots. I like the "Urban" stuff best, the landscapes the least. Anyone can take a picture of a pretty sunset.
You're obviously very talented. I think you could benefit from having more focus, literally and figuratively.

This kind of stuff, there's others, I like. They have their own personality if you will.

http://www.dustinross.com/htmls/…I just like to see a photographer's portfolio generate a sense of it's own personal style.
The color in general is fine but they're almost all washed out. It's proably your scanner. There's no deep black or rich colors in a lot of them.compare this:

to this:
You'd be able to do a lot more with the negs than I can but that's generally what I mean.
So yeah...
