Does anyone here use C4D at work? I'm thinking of learning it to compliment my After Effects work, but wasn't sure how many agencies out there use it. Do potential employers care what apps you use? I just want to do basic stuff so I don't need Maya, but would I be better off learning that for the future? Are there any schools that teach C4D? Thanks in advance.

Cinema is a great program (or so I hear) and will continue to grow in popularity. Esp. considering the new modular purchase system.
Really, you can do anything with almost any program. C4D has modeling, animation, radiosity, caustics, etc., more than Maya or Max.
Don't know of many firms that use it, but if you learn one well the transistion won't be that painful. If you are actually 'buying' C4D, it's a sweet deal. But you can't go wrong with it. Plus, it's supposed to be easy to learn.

Thanks for the info. Does anyone work at an agency that uses C4D? I'm looking to use it in more of a motion graphics context than a modeling charater animation centext. Any thoughts?

i believe imaginary forces used c4d for the opening title sequence in spider-man ... i think c4d is slowly starting to catch-on in the motion graphics world ... even more so in europe ...
