We finally got our company to buy G4's last year. Before that it was a few Blue and White G3's, and I was on this archaic Beige G3 that constantly crashed forever.
Then they were all impressed when productivity went up. We were all like "Well, we don't have to take a 20 minute break every we try to save these 300mb Photoshop files!".
New computers on the company dime kick ass.

I do most my work on an old school 8086 with whooping 64 kb ram. I just got a new monitor, it can display 256 colours at once, so I'm pretty excited!

Macintosh ColorClassic - 2MbRAM 40MbHD - it just sits there with a screensaver on looking cool.
Macintosh Quadra630 33Mhz 20MbRAM 700MbHD System 7.5.3 + 14" Monitor
Had it for years. It still works perfectly. I mostly use it for type design - Fontographer and Letrastudio! - remember that??????
Fully Loaded G4 for the real world.

this is one of the worst yet:
Pentium Pro 200 mHz, 128MB RAM, 4 GB HD.
They gave me a 1.8gHz P4 w/ 512 MB RAM & a 40 gigger.
I think I would have quit otherwise. I work for the world's third largest software company. Bastids.

We'll need some Sam's Cola to peer2peer. My friend dave said he can install a airport for me, for $200, but I can cut the hole in the can myself for free.

800mhz really isn't slow.
not compared to people still working on p2's/p1's.

Did/Does anyone taking two soup cans with several feet of string attached to the bottom of each can and then talk between them? Lofi-Walkietalkies.
Maybe it was just me, but thats how I survived my endless summers.
- mayo0
i did as a kid. but i wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed and kept the string so short that i just heard the other person talking to me from 4 feet away.
