Watched it, got it, understood it,
Couple of questions, maybe you can help.1) Where did the enging come from????? -don't say the sky!
2? What was in the letter Donnie wrote Grandma death
3) And what was that wave thing all about at the end.
Anybody Know?

the engine came from a time/space worm hole.
the letter was explaining his interpitations of her writtings.
the wave thing was the times path, that he was able to visualise.

pretty sure you can read the letter donnie sends grandma death on the dvd.

I need to watch the movie again, seen it when it came out and that's it. is there good content on the DVD?
- neeko0

I thought i got it....then i watched it again & realised that the one line that is repeated in that "mad world" song is...."the dreams in which im dying are the best ive ever had". Remember at the begining Donnie is laughing in his sleep. So the whole is a dream... am i right?

I watched the DVD But I couldn't see anything about the letter?
And how could the mother and daughter be on the plane, experience an engine falling of the plane, and yet be in the house when the bloody thing comes crashin through the roof.
I thought I got it...You've just messed with my head Ctrl_Z

Tis a very good film indeed.
The deleted scenes are a bonus and it's well worth buying the dvd.

1) Worm hole/black hole indeed-time travelling - his mother and sister were in the plane, remember, plane got crashed engine came through the worm hole
2) He understands how time travelling works and how it can influence time/future therefore to save his girl, he deliberatly doesn't move (while knowing a plane engine comes down)
3) Wave thing is just a way to make the worm/black -hole timetravelling more physical
Well these are my opions based on 1 time viewing. Should see the movie again.

my cousin has some of his music in the film which is kinda cool.

The idea through the movie, from my POV is that he's saving the world he knows by sacrificing himself, and he doesn't realize it til he haphazardly runs through the first time through, but then discovers the time travel and such. He was sort of caught up in the wrong reality, hence why his mom and sister were on the plane etc. He was able to 'stop' all that per say... I loved that movie... need to watch it again, but thats my opinion... and as for the interpretation with the song, its more symbolic than literal i think, the dreams in which he's been having, well, that is the twisted reality he's caught up in....

Right at the start of the movie Donnie Darko is lying in the middle of the road, next to his bike...did he sleepcycle to the road or did he just fall through another worm hole!!

highly over-rated, prententious, teen flick.
but thats only my opinion, so don't crucify me.

even if you didnt like the film, you had to dig the bunny suit.
the directors commentary is quite interesting, but it sort of spoils all the personal guesswork and interpretation once yuve seen it.
- dc0
granted, the bunny suit and the soundtrack was great.
the rest was shite.

The website was so ggod they even put screen grabs of it on the DVD.

1) the future.
2) it was the letter she was waiting for in the beginning of the movie.
3) huh?

the website has so much information on it that they dont explain in the movie.
you can read parts of Sparrow's book on time travel on the site and it talks about the "Dead Receiving" the "Living Receiving" et cetera. it gets reaaaaaly fucking deep and makes you have to think abotu the movie in a whole different way. i thought i got everything pretty good after watching a few times, but the website made me have to go back and apply the Roberta Sparrows philosophy to it. fucked up and brilliant.
havent seen the DVD yet.

agree with bio (of course)
going through the whole website, and watching the movie will open up a few things..or atleast make you look at things a bit skewed...
which is always fun..
definitely one of the best movies i've seen in a long time, and brilliant acting by the lead donnie darko guy...
one of the best dvds as well...makes for a great evening watchng that flick..messes with your mind..
also love the haunting moody atmosphere...and the theme song really captures that mood perfectly...
absolutely awesome movie...
sorry you didn't dig it dc...
