BioFreak,
Try this....
Main Movie is the .exe file, then load all of your sounds in using swf files.
That way you can use flash to compress the audio in the files, and sill use the exe file as the main file.

yes you can bio, I bet you will be able to find the flash 4 player quicker than an entire version of flash 4...
pressssssscious

scotty, thanks for responding man.
the problem with that is still the same though. i could load the files externally, but then the filesize of the whole project would still eb relativly the same cuz i would still be mailing out a 800k file that has to load 100k of sound.
a good idea, but still not feasible.
thanks for the input though! =)

i'm looking for proof, but i believe the projector export uses the flash tab's settings.
I think it exports the swf according to those settings nad imports it into the projector exe.
I can most definitely can be wrong, but that what it looks like to me.
If i find something in writing, il get it to ya.

good point, eno.

yo eno!
unfortunatly, that was one of the first things i tried. didnt work out.
)=
i wanna go home.

i suppose the best way to find out is by saving the swf with an uncompressed sound file and saving another swf with it compressed.
Both times also output a projector file.
Check the differences.

out of interest and procrastination, i gave it a shot..
The first time, in the flash settings, i set the audio to Fast, 8k, and checked override audio settings.
SWF was 78k
EXE was 878kThe second time, i set the audio to Best, 160k, still with override checked
SWF was 1.3MB
EXE was 1.9MB

cool enough man. i give up though.
it is impossible to get this thing any smaller without zipping the file.
my boss will have to succumb to the will of logic.
for real though, thanks for taking the time to help out! much love/respect n shiz.

here's a belated idea. Not sure if it would work, but why not try to make the email HTML based and embed the swf in it, linked from an external site.

what is the sound you are using? what format and how? I can compress the thing to make it so small, but you will have problems everytime you try and make an .exe with Flash using sound, I have same problem, use FLASH MX and Sorenson Compressor

hey, can't you just optimize the sound file in the library and then it'll be optimized as you export it into an .exe? I'm too lazy to try it but i think it'll work...
