Hey, I'm sketching a EP cover for a band called The Orchestra....
Any thoughts on this? I wanted it to look a tad tacky... well... tacky but still good looking.

Wow, that's great man! I love it. The only thing I would suggest is playing with a few different typefaces in your title area.

Yeah, the type ain't done yet... but I was thinking either cross stitched type on a tacky frame... or just something classic, ie. Garamond, Bodoni or Caslon.

don't like the band on there.. and take we are the audience out of that box... and change it's typeface.. maybe just put it at the bottom where the band is..
the orchestra looks sweet though on that background..

Great work!! I like it alot. I would put a a shadow under the frame, so it will look like it's hanging. Now it kind of looks like it's in the wall, but perphaps thats the look your going for? Either way, It looks great!!

yeah.. guys.. band.. whoever those peeps are .. that illustration..
don't like it on there.. i like the clean feel you'd get without it...
just the orchestra box.. cd title at the bottom with better type

Naw, won't remove it... I worked far to long on them. I'll fix the composition a bit though, it's a bit dodgy.

that cd would be so much more refreshing without the line drawings? MAYBE if the portraits were really detailed oil paintings it would work better.

by the way, that band looks SO indie! i would bet when they're not 'jamming' they are at the coffee shop.

I love the dynamic of the line art with that old victorian-esque wallpaper background and the gold picture frame surrounding the text...tis a nice combo.....plus, well, you spent 2 fucking days perfecting those assholes (and I'm sure they will have no understanding or appreciation for the time, effort, and detail you went into for them). The only suggestion I have is to maybe think about having another MUCH MORE SUBTLE line art element on the cover.....just to make the dynamic a little more comfortable to swallow.....looks good.

horrible.. at least make a cool vector drawing.. shade them or something..
that line drawing blows.. ruining the entire clean look of everything else..
