  How do you make a button remain in the down state when hit instead of switching to the up state over again, until the user switched to another frame.

  This is a bit of a RUSH, can't find much out there (flashkit, flashguru ...)

  You can put your first button in a movie clip. If you click the button it goes to a frame in the movie clip that looks the same as your first button's hit state.
