doubt it. the painting is, after all, just a 'likeness' and not an actual printed reproduction and i think that distinction makes the difference... then again, i'm not really an expert on this.
did you copyright your work?

not officially..but its been published and out in the world for about a year.
copyright issues make my head spin.

i've always been fond of the poor mans copyright:
take a polaroid of yourself with your work in one hand and that days newspaper in the other.
it's better than nothing. and at least it serves as a chronological point of reference if you did need to take legal action.

yeah, and make sure you look all disheveled...then the pix will look like you're holding the work of art hostage.

(preferably with a ransom note inside... ya know... for effect.)
