it took me about 20-30 minutes, not including the time it took to carve out the hole to fit the backlight itself.
the hard part is applying the AR film without getting bubbles or dust in it. it's also hard to keep dust from getting on the backlight itself. Even the tiniest piece of dust shows up easily when the backlight is turned on.
the results may vary, but after my installation, my only gripe was the slight wash of the colors. it was almost as if the light was too bright. if i had the time, i probably would have installed the turn switch which would allow you to adjust the brightness. at any rate, it was a fun project.
JUST REMEMBER, if you do get this kit, purchase extra AR film!!! you'll probably screw it up the first time you try to apply it. Also get a can of compressed air for the dust.
the afterburner site forums are a perfect place to get feedback from others on techniques/ stories/ etc.

i would like one of these, but i'm wondering if it works with my Flash Advance Linker. because if it can't play my copies ^H^H^H^H^H backups then it's no good to me...

i'd rather just wait for the SP then mess with the AB kit. I don't have a souldering iron, and I just know I will mess something up.
since it's the same internal hardware, i'm sure it works with the flash linkers.

does this come with a G4 chip in it? looks like a TiBook Advance.
