the appearance of "neutrality" is what makes the subtle brain-washing so effective.
yes fairy tales are partly designed to keep the populace in control. just like organized religion, and many many other things, like music can be a political tool: the tonal structure with its harmony to chaos and back to resolution, the "coming home" of returning to normal reality where everything is OK, THAT makes people stay in line.
and no it is not "just a movie". it is brain washing for kids. I'm talking about the subtext of politically charged behavioral modification in popular "entertainment". thats precisely what they want you to think: that "its just a movie".

dub, no offense, but it IS just a movie...
let's just make a few things clear.
the Beatles were NOT a plot from british intelligence to enslave the public and dupe it into experimenting with drugs....
the 'chaos, back into order' as you more or less put it, is a theme...thats it...folks use themes in art and design and music all the time....
get used to that, you'll probably see it again sometime...caffeine and sugary cereals may be upsetting you...return to decaf and try to cut down your sugar intake...it's making you freaky...
fairytales were created for a zillion reasons..probably one for every different tale...
some are allegory, some are educational...and some were just meant to scare the shit out of kids....sure...there are lots of ways to influence people, music, movies and the colour of someones tie can be a subtle influence...
but if one has a tendency towards paranoia, well....
you can see terrible things behind the most benign of things...

OK GUYs, really the only good thing that might come out of the new Star wars films is hopefully a mel brooks SPACEBALL prequel!

Star Wars for me is:
- millions of unknown and non understandable galaxies
- millions of unknown and non understandable planets
- millions of unknown non understandable empires
- millions of unknown and non understandable creatures
- a boring, no logical, non understandable content
- millions of places full of stupid noise separated by steel doors
... and... the beggining was made after the final and the final was made before the middel and they spent 3 years to start other chapter at movies.
sincerely, I prefer Mark Twain with Tom Sawyer or anything.

I remember my boss paying $1000 to be the first to watch The Phantom mess! How crazy was that, I went the next day for $9 and thought I got ripped off.

wow-reading this on a slow day at work is sure entertaining. Cheers to Dub for starting an intellectual topic which drew some interesting respones. As well as suckered the loud morons in as well(d9th and selftitled I'm looking in your direction).
As for me-as long as GW's in power I don't look past anything these days.

George Lucas can't direct real people. Stick to CGI.

whoah johnny... I was just reacting to the subject of this thread... Star Wars is not a conspiracy. The only conspracy was to make millions off overaged star wars geeks. Those people are brainwashed. I predict the final flick will suck a dick too.
the best was empire strikes back.

government brainwashing is what you get out of fairy tales, star wars and music??? Dub23, brighten up chump.
as for starwars being sucky, i actually liked attack of the clones- was great fun, and anakins killing spree scene is classic!
though after seeing Two Towers, it does make the new star wars films seem very tacky indeed...
