I walked in to a shop yesterday and noticed Coke has gone back to the 70's with their rehashing of the dynamic ribbon device from the 70's. The can itself has gone back to a darker shinny aluminium colour. They have introduced yellow as well to dynamic ribbon device and added bubbles to the can. Also Coke its self has changed and they have italicised the e at the end.
As a kid of the 70's I don't mind it at all as it reminds me of growing up and buying Coke.
Has anybody else around the world notice this or is it just a Sydney thing? Coke has had a problem with their branding here in the past 5 years. They have tried everything but why is it going back to their old campaigns?

The cans and the coke brand. They have thrown away the late 80's 90's DRD and re introduced the way it was done in the 70's

I haven't noticed either.
packaging tends to be different from country to country though. it's probably a reflection of what's working and not working in you country.
I think the contour bottle on coca cola classic is working pretty damned good in canada, they've been using it for like 7-8 years, if not more.
I don't like the vanilla coke packaging though... too close to regular coke, i get them mixed up.

the owners of coke are one of the six secret powers above the president... along with the owners of blockbuster, some big hollywood moguls and george bush sr...
there is a secret chemical inside coke that encourages us to post these threads and crave it nightly!!!!...pass it on...

I am going to disagree with you. I collect cans of Coca Cola from all over the world and the cans are almost identical in each country. I have about maybe 40 different countries in my collection.
Just letting you know.
Man, that was so anal that post.
